Invented Tarot/ Zodiac cards with book
The cards are hand-drawn using black and gold ink on velvet somerset paper 300gsm. The black parts of the backside of the cards are printed, and gold accents are added by hand. The cards are showing the animals, elements, month and other parts that play a role in the Celtic Zodiac. Some months have more animals as others, ranging between 1 to 3. Overall there are 26 cards.
In addition to the deck of cards was a book written and created, explaining the cards, the Zodiac in general and trees that fit each month (13 instead of 12). The book features annotations that look handwritten with brownish ink. There were two papers used to print the book. A papyrus-like paper on which title, content and introduction are printed as well as the appendix. The second paper is a Somerset paper in sating 150gsm on which the main content of the book is printed.
The book, as well as the case for the cards, are covered in faux black leather. The book is bound with a perfect binding method, using black elements and hand coloured golden endpapers
The case for the cards fulfils the purpose of protecting the cards as well as storing them; a black ribbon eases the removing of the cards.
